From "we're just looking" to foster fails
My story
How I became a trainer
For years, my pit mixes, Harley and Hudson, were the heartbeat of our home. My husband and I set out one weekend to "just see what was out there" and came home with two puppies — completely underestimating what we were getting into, and never regretting a moment of it.
In 2023, we lost Hudson at eight years old. My heart cracked wide open, and Harley felt it too. Two weeks later a five-month-old rescue named Poppy came to us as a foster, and it was immediately clear our home was where she belonged.
Poppy came with no history and a whole lot of personality. Reactivity became something we had to actively manage, and we spent thousands of dollars on training that never quite clicked — until we found the right trainer. That changed everything, for her and for me.
Harley and Hudson made me a dog mom. Poppy made me a trainer. My work now is helping families build the life they imagined with their dog — because when you understand how your dog thinks and what they need from you, the walks, the home, and the relationship all shift.

In memoriam
Harley's brother and shadow for eight years. We brought them home together so they'd always have each other. He was gentle in a way that made everyone in the room quieter. He is the reason this work exists.
Harley
Our steady one. Harley has been the center of this home for over a decade — patient, sweet, and endlessly forgiving of a younger sister who never stops moving. She taught me what a settled dog actually looks like.
Poppy
The foster fail who changed everything. A five-month-old rescue with no history and a whole lot of personality. Every phase of her growth taught me something I couldn't have learned from a book.
